Website development
I tend to focus on developing websites for artists and portfolios which still give their clients agency to update their content, but at a lower maintenance cost. My general preferred solution has been to utilize GitHub Pages for hosting, which in turn employs Jekyll to generate its sites.

Amalfi Music & Arts Festival
Arts festival website featuring multiple programs, registration forms, payments, internationalization and localization supportResponsibilities: Website design, development, Google Workspace migration, PayPal integrationThe festival, a 501(c)(3) organization, owned a website hosted by a cloud-based web development service, but the information had grown stale and the site was due for a rebrand. Their technology stack made it difficult to do document sharing and collaboration. The festival has a market in China, but localization was accomplished with static copies of relevant pages, which was difficult to maintain. I migrated the team to Google Workspace for collaboration and email, moved registration forms to Google Forms, re-structured the website, and added internationalization support, while improving the payment process for users, which went through PayPal. The team was empowered to make content changes to the website, had a more comprehensible and streamlined registration and payment process, and could also localize the content quickly.

Greer Muldowney Loves Photography
Portfolio website with media gallery, CV, analytics, and contact formResponsibilities: Website design, developmentThe client wanted a site refresh, and was interested in migrating away from the more expensive hosted solution she had been using, not just because of cost, but because the hosting provider was vulnerable to attacks, which were affecting her search results. I extended the bold styling into the gallery sections, and added responsive design and GDPR-complaint site analytics.

Phelps Dean Witter
Artist website with list of works, embedded media, image gallery, and contact formResponsibilities: Website design, development, music publishingThe composer's website was completely revamped with a more modern, and responsive, design. The client already had a YouTube channel with recordings of his works, which I embedded as part of the media gallery. This would be an interim solution as I worked with the client to also release an album of his recordings for streaming.

Salo Sciences
Corporate website with blog, job board, contact formResponsibilities: Website developmentA press deadline required this environmental startup to build a website on short notice. I was brought on a few months later to clean up the site's organization, give it a more professional sheen, and make it mobile-friendly. Since the founders had experience with git, they used GitHub Pages and wrote the site with Jekyll. I leveraged their coding know-how and tidied up the repository's folder structure to make site updates easier to author and deploy.
